Lake Arrowhead Map Art

Lake Arrowhead is a mountain community in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest and wrapped around the Lake Arrowhead Reservoir. It sits 13 miles northeast of the San Bernardino city limits and had about 12,400 residents at the 2020 census. The lake was called Little Bear Lake until about 1920, when a group from Los Angeles, the Arrowhead Lake Company, bought it and the land around it and changed the name. Tourism carries almost the whole local economy, with over four million visitors a year and many part-time residents. There is no official town center. Lake Arrowhead Village serves as the main place to shop and eat and hosts events such as a summer concert series, an Oktoberfest and the Antique Wooden Boat Show. On a map the lake is a crooked shape set inside the national forest.
